To mess with the Contra series would be sacrilege in the misty eyes of many retro gamers. And whilst Shin Contra has the CGI cut scenes and jaw dropping next gen graphics, at its core beats a strong pulse of the punishing original. Run and gun through some hairy, dystopic scenarios especially when one touch means an action rerun. But Contra has always been a game to give hardened gamers their gristle. And those pseudo 3D effects add a lot of gee wiz sparkle. Just beware the bosses from hell. And we thought Treasure gave out tough love... Known as Contra Shattered Soldier in the West.
