Usually Genki likes to show some restraint when it comes to the rich, lavish caviar on offer on the Neo Geo Captains table. However such restraint is tough in the face of Metal Slug Xs slick platform gameplay with gaming sequences that flow seamlessly together as we try and take down another enemy position, hand grenade pin in teeth and danger in boot. The vehicles are such fun, the hostage rescuing bringing huge replay value, the humour is ever present preventing any frustration at being unable to progress (always the players fault alas as opposed to the developers.) The worrying thing is Pound for Pound, it is just about worth it.
