Doom on the home consoles seemed like a distant reality when the PC fraternity were getting as hot as the bleak Martian landscape. Yet it became quite a bench mark by which to judge a console, such as Street Fighter II had before it. The 64 version is mightily impressive and more importantly plays really well in the dark labyrinths full of unspeakable demons.
