Chip Chan Kick

NEC pays homage to a PC Engine classic in Parasol Stars and succeeds in creating a masterpiece of an action puzzle titles with colours as brash as Van Gogh and gameplay of the purest order. The kick from the title referes to the compulsion to boot bad guys off screen to clear the stage. The same applies to the boss levels that crop up, yet bosses tend to have the nasty habit of coming back to seek revenge as a monstrously humongous machine. The soundtrack benefits from the CD format and the anime cut scenes provide some well earned rest before the frantic action kicks off again.
